PixiePlant Privacy Policy

PixiePlant ("we", "our", or "us") provides a mobile app that helps users track houseplants, log care actions, manage schedules, and connect with other plant owners.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use PixiePlant:

• Account information, such as your email address, username, and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google.
• Profile information you choose to add, such as avatar, banner color, and theme preferences.
• User content you create in the app, including plants, care logs, schedules, wishlist items, friends, household members, and journal entries.
• Camera and photo library access, only when you choose to take a photo or select an image to identify a plant or update plant photos. Images you select are processed for your account; we do not scan your camera roll.
• Push notification token, if you grant notification permission, so we can deliver care reminders and social activity alerts.
• Technical information necessary to operate the service, such as authentication and session data.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Provide core app features, including plant tracking, reminders, care logs, and social features such as friends and households.
• Send push notifications you have opted into.
• Store and sync your data across sessions and devices.
• Maintain security, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot issues.
• Respond to support or feedback requests.

How Information Is Stored

PixiePlant uses Supabase to host our database, authentication, and file storage. Push notifications are delivered through Expo's push notification service and ultimately through Apple Push Notification service (APNs).

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the app — currently Supabase (database, auth, storage), Expo (push delivery), Apple (APNs), and Google (Sign-In) — and only as needed to run the service.

Content you create may be visible to other users when you use social features (friends, households, shared plant care). Your username, display name, and avatar are visible to users you connect with.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Your Choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting us at joshiwata@gmail.com. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's Settings app.

Children's Privacy

PixiePlant is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
